Librarians and teachers in the UK can try our resources on approval! We also welcome orders from schools, libraries and individuals worldwide. We’d love your feedback on our resources and web site!

Yes! We welcome private orders from the UK & overseas.

Do you accept payment by credit card?
Yes - we accept VISA, Mastercard and Switch (not American Express).

Do you pay return postage on approval copies?
Sorry - we pay the postage one way only. (The great majority of people choose to keep the titles they receive. Paying return postage for the others would put up our prices!)

What does your typical site licence cover?
• A Carel Press site licence, eg for Complete Issues, entitles the staff and students at the purchasing institution to unrestricted access to the resource online.
• All staff and students at the purchasing institution can use the resource online at the same time both in school and at home.
• There is no restriction on the number of users or computers at any time.
• The online resource can be accessed by username and password, URL or IP address.

What are print-your-own pdf posters ?

These are digital posters - you can print as many copies of them as you like and use them on whiteboards. We send you a link to your personal download page (we do not post you printed posters).

Can I access Complete Issues without using a password and code?

Yes, for example we can set up URL access for your intranet or VLE to Complete Issues. Resources are also accessible by your static IP address (ie if you use the same connection to the internet all of the time). We need to know the single IP address of the proxy server or gateway that your computers use to access the Internet.

Which titles are suitable for English language teaching, and British Studies?
Complete Issues (for advanced learners), the Shorter Shakespeare series and Posters for English.

Write For Us

Please study our titles carefully so that there's a good match between your proposal and our strengths and areas.
Outline your proposal in a synopsis, indicating clearly:

  • Who the resource is aimed at
  • Why there's a need for it
  • What kind of resource is it?
  • What's the competition?
Send a short sample with a suggested contents page. There's no need to go design these sample pages. What we're interested in is the quality of the idea. We can provide the design, if the idea is a good one and fits into our publishing programme. When we receive your proposal we'll look at it, and perhaps get 2 or 3 people to comment on it for us. This, of course, takes time.
