FAQs

What are pdf posters?
These are digital posters - you can print as many copies of them as you like at a variety of sizes. We send you the digital pdf files (we do not post you printed posters).

Are there any teaching and research ideas for Essential Articles and Fact File?

You can download one page pdfs with Research & teaching ideas for Essential Articles and Fact File respectively. Please go to the download tabs on the
Essential Articles and Fact File pages.

What is the difference between QuickSearch and LiveSearch?

QuickSearch and LiveSearch are online tools to make searching easier. They both use a wide range of keywords making it easier to find what you're looking for. The key difference is that QuickSearch looks at several volumes and produces a list, while LiveSearch looks at individual volumes and brings you the actual page.

Anyone can use QuickSearch – it's like a super index of recent volumes of Essential Articles and Fact File. Just enter a search term and it quickly produces a printable list of relevant articles and statistics.

There is a separate LiveSearch for Fact File and for Essential Articles online. This is available once you have bought the book and have got your code from us so you can search and instantly find relevant pages as PDFs.

Can I access the digital versions of Fact File and Key Organisations without using a password and code?
Yes, they are also accessible by your static IP address (ie if you use the same connection to the internet all of the time). We need to know the single IP address of the proxy server or gateway that your computers use to access the Internet. ReadPlus can also be accessed by IP address.

Which titles are suitable for English language teaching, and British Studies?
The Shorter Shakespeare series, Essential Articles (for advanced learners), Posters for English and Fact File. Key Organisations would also be useful for British Studies.

Write For Us

Please study our titles carefully so that there's a good match between your proposal and our strengths and areas.
Outline your proposal in a synopsis, indicating clearly:

  • Who the resource is aimed at
  • Why there's a need for it
  • What kind of resource is it?
  • What's the competition?
Send a short sample with a suggested contents page. There's no need to go design these sample pages. What we're interested in is the quality of the idea. We can provide the design, if the idea is a good one and fits into our publishing programme. When we receive your proposal we'll look at it, and perhaps get 2 or 3 people to comment on it for us. This, of course, takes time.
